Facial Ageing & Skin Quality Consultation

Facial Ageing & Skin Quality Consultation

Géniale provides doctor-led consultations for patients who would like to discuss facial ageing, skin quality, skin texture, facial balance or changes in facial volume.

A consultation is required before any treatment option can be recommended. During your appointment, the practitioner will assess your concerns, medical history, suitability, risks, alternatives, expected recovery and likely costs.

Treatment options vary between patients and may include non-surgical, laser-based, skin-focused or procedural options where clinically appropriate.

All procedures carry risks. Results vary between individuals. A consultation does not guarantee that treatment will be suitable.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know which treatment I want before I book?

No. The purpose of a facial-ageing and skin-quality consultation is to assess your concerns before deciding whether any procedure is appropriate. You can explain changes you have noticed without choosing a treatment in advance. The doctor can review your medical history, examine the relevant areas and explain possible management options, limitations and alternatives.

Can I discuss facial volume changes and skin texture at the same appointment?

Yes. These concerns may occur together but can have different causes and require different approaches. A doctor can assess facial anatomy, skin condition, medical history and your individual priorities during the consultation. The assessment does not mean a procedure will be recommended, and treatment options depend on what is clinically appropriate for you.

Could a skin treatment be more appropriate than a lifting procedure?

Possibly. Concerns about pigmentation, scarring or surface texture differ from concerns about tissue laxity and structural support. A treatment designed for one issue may not adequately address another. The doctor will assess your skin and facial anatomy before explaining whether skin-focused management, another approach, referral or no procedure would be appropriate.

What if the doctor decides I am not suitable for a cosmetic procedure?

A consultation can conclude that no procedure is advisable. This may reflect medical history, skin characteristics, the nature of the concern, potential risks or the limits of available treatments. Your doctor should explain the reasons and discuss appropriate alternatives, which may include general skincare advice, monitoring, management of a medical condition or referral.

How can I compare the recovery involved in different options?

Recovery depends on the procedure, the treatment area and your individual health and healing response. Some approaches may involve temporary redness or sensitivity, while others can involve bruising, swelling or longer restrictions. During consultation, ask about realistic recovery, risks, follow-up and how each option might affect work, exercise or other activities.
