WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
Microneedling is used to treat and improve conditions like acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin, skin texture, pore size, brown spots, stretch marks, and pigment issues.
It’s a procedure that uses fine needles to puncture the skin and create a controlled skin injury in order to rejuvenate skin.
Most anyone can have the procedure performed as long as they do not have any active infections, lesions, or any known wound healing problems.
WHAT EFFECTS DOES MICRONEEDLING HAVE?
Within several days to weeks you will notice a smoother, brighter, and more radiant appearance, however, the full effects of the treatment do not appear until several months later.
DO I NEED A CONSULTATION FIRST?
At Géniale we perform a complimentary consultation to educate you about your options. Micro-needling is often performed in conjunction with other therapies, so as to give you the best results possible.
HOW IS THE TREATMENT CARRIED OUT?
Prior to the procedure, the skin is cleaned and numbing cream may be applied which drastically minimizes or eliminates any pain altogether. A penlike tool called a derma roller is used to insert tiny stainless steel needles into the skin to cause punctures. The idea is that the damage caused by the needles encourages your body to send healing agents (elastin and collagen) to the cuts to repair them.
After the procedure, a collagen-enhancing serum is applied.
Microneedling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS?
Microneedling is a comfortable procedure with low risk and short recovery. However, like any procedure, microneedling can cause possible complications, including bleeding, bruising, infection, scarring, and pigment problems.
