Complete Comfort & Confidence Within Yourself.

“Sexual confidence is about more than just sex. It influences your entire life; if you can be confident in the bedroom, you can be confident anywhere”

Each labia is as unique as a fingerprint, and many women experience discomfort, irritation, or a lack of confidence due to the size or shape of their labia. This is by no means rare and there are many ways to remedy the problem, however for years societal pressures have prevented open discussion around female sexuality that would allow people to seek help.

What is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is a simple, near pain-free procedure performed to refine and contour the appearance of the labia or vaginal lips. A labiaplasty is designed to change the size or shape of the labia, remove any unwanted dark skin, to reduce the length of the labia or to correct any vaginal asymmetry. It can increase pleasure during sex, reduce pain during sex and exercise, and increase your confidence in the bedroom.

What can be expected from a labiaplasty procedure?

A labiaplasty can provide a wide range of results, depending on what you’re looking for. It can resize or change the shape of your labia, reduce its length, or improve symmetry of the vaginal lips. Those who undergo a labiaplasty procedure due to discomfort during sex or exercise can expect to have this irritation removed and an increase in sexual pleasure. These results are immediate with continued improvement for 3-4 weeks post procedure as your body heals.

Géniale offers consultation for all the procedures we perform. Come in and talk with us about how labiaplasty can help make you more comfortable and confident.

How is the Procedure done? Labiaplasty Look In

There are many different ways to reshape a labia. After a preliminary consultation Dr Shenouda will discuss with you the best way forward. This may mean a simple injection into the labia, or a minor removal of tissue from the vaginal area. Our large range of options allows us to tailor treatments to your specific needs, giving you the look you desire.

The majority of labiaplasty treatments are performed at the Géniale centre in Drummoyne, however cases requiring more major surgery are performed at Woollahra private hospital.

How long does recovery take?

For the majority of patients the 7-9 days after your surgery sees swelling and some pain, however, this will begin to improve after this time.

The expected return to work time is 5-7 days for office work and up to 1 week for jobs requiring physical work.

You will need to apply iced water gauze to the area for 48 hours, allow 2-4 weeks for swimming, depending on healing, and 4-6 weeks for heavy exercise and sexual activity.

If you’re looking into a labiaplasty for increased sexual pleasure, the O-Shot could be right for you. One simple injection can increase sexual arousal, stimulation, and satisfaction for up to three years.

For urinary incontinence we offer several laser treatments to reduce accidental leakage, giving you confidence both inside and outside of the bedroom.

Non-Surgical Laser Labia Tightening

Changes to the labia are no longer inherently surgical. Vaginal Laser Tightening is a safe and non-invasive procedure, designed to tighten the vaginal canal and reinstate strength and rejuvenated healthier vaginal wall and greater sexual satisfaction.

The treatment involves laser-induced thermal effects on the vaginal tissue, stimulating collagen remodelling and the synthesis of new collagen fibres.

It’s a 30 minutes pain-free procedure and as little as 2 treatments (4 weeks apart) are required. Unlike surgical intervention, this procedure carries no risks or complications and there is no downtime.

It’s a lunchtime procedure. You will leave immediately after the procedure and continue your daily routine. There may be some minimal sensitivity after the procedure and a transparent discharge for 2-3 days afterwards.

Sexual intercourse is not recommended for 1 week after the procedure. The treatment is popular following childbirth and is also a common treatment for stretching that results naturally as a result of ageing.

This is surgery of the labia minora. Enlarged labia minor or a darkening of the labia skin is a common occurrence at the end of adolescence or after having children.

Unfortunately this can cause rubbing and discomfort during exercise or when wearing tight clothing. Labiaplasty removes any irritating excess tissue, allowing for a more comfortable you.

This is surgery of the labia majora and can be done to enlarge or reduce the area.

Enlarging the area provides your labia major fullness and a natural looking contour, whereas minimising the area removes any excess tissue you may find physically or aesthetically uncomfortable.

The clitoral hood is a natural protector of the clitoris which prevents it rubbing against clothing. In specific cases this area can be reshaped or reduced to a size more comfortable for your body.

During adolescence, childbirth, and ageing the vaginal wall will often naturally loosen.

Vaginaplasty is able to rejuvenate the muscles within the vagina to restore them to a more tightened state.

Prior to surgery labia may be elongated, asymmetrical or enlarged, causing discomfort.

With the use of a laser any excess skin is gently removed to reshape and resize the labia.

After this, any necessary further reshaping is performed to ensure increased symmetry and improve aesthetic appearance.

Once completed the labia is symmetrical, aesthetically pleasing and any irritating or discomforting excess tissue has been removed.

Labiaplasty Questions & Answers

Is it suitable for me?

We understand how difficult the decision is to undergo any medical procedure. During your preliminary consultation we will assess your suitability for a labiaplasty procedure and discuss with you how best to achieve your desired result.

Is this covered under medicare?

For labia minora surgery, labia majora surgery and clitoral hood surgery, medicare rebates are only applicable for severe congenital surgery. Regarding vaginal tightening, there may be a medicare rebate applicable for functional problems. Please contact us for more details.

How long do results last?

Labiaplasty results are designed to last a lifetime.

How many treatments will I need?

For the vast majority of cases only one treatment is required. If we believe a second is needed we will discuss it with you post procedure and work out what’s most convenient for you.

How long until I notice my results?

Results from a labiaplasty procedure are immediate and continue to improve for 3-4 weeks post procedure as your body heals.

Can I have a labiaplasty after giving birth?

Yes. Pregnancy can be hard on a woman’s body, and childbirth can sometimes actually tear the labia. This can be easily repaired with labiaplasty.
